REPRODUCTIVE JUSTICE
COLOR's mission is to serve as a sisterhood of Latinas dedicated to building a movement of Latinas, their families and allies through leadership development, organizing and advocacy to create opportunities and achieve reproductive justice.
The Mission of Women's Health is to provide accessible, confidential and comprehensive gynecological and reproductive healthcare, including sexual health services and education.
The Gender Identity Center of Colorado provides support, outreach, and advocacy for all forms of Gender Identity and Expression, as well as educates the public regarding Gender Identity and Expression throughout our great state and beyond! In order to accept all new transgender clients in a timely manner we need more clinicians, more materials, and more space.
RESOURCES FOR GIRLS
The core mission of Girls Incorporated of Metro Denver (GIMD) is to inspire all girls to be STRONG, SMART, and BOLD.
Girls Athletic Leaderships Schools, empowering girls to succeed academically, lead confidently, live boldly, and thrive physically. GALS Denver is a middle school and high school serving girls in grades 6 through 9 and growing through grade 12 by the year 2018. The school is located in central Denver.
Smart-Girl empowers adolescents to make smart choices and become confident, capable and self-reliant young adults.
The Women's Foundation of Colorado helps women and girls in Colorado reach their full potential in three ways: 1) Prevent girls from dropping out of high school. 2) Provide support for low-income single mothers to become economically self sufficient through job training and education. 3) Enable girls to pursue STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) careers, which offer higher lifetime earnings.
SEX TRAFFICKING RESOURCES
Street's Hope provides holistic restorative services to women escaping sex trafficking and the commercial sex industry and nurtures the resilience needed to heal, transform and thrive. We envision a healthy community void of sex trafficking and the commercial sex industry where every woman is empowered and restored to her humanity.
Each year, young children are freed from the forced commercial sex trade in Colorado. Sadly, there is a wide gap for placement homes available for young girls to go to get the treatment, therapy, and services they need to recover and heal. Sarah's Home is a faith-based, therapeutic home for underage girls who have been freed from sex trafficking in Colorado. We exist to help them recover, renew, and restore to a healthy life they can live beyond the chains of exploitation, trauma, and bondage.
The Laboratory to Combat Human Trafficking exists to compel data-driven actions to end human trafficking by conducting research, training professionals and first responders, and educating the public.
VIOLENCE PREVENTION & ASSISTANCE
A Woman's Place, Inc. shelters and helps empower victims/survivors of domestic abuse to become safe, secure and self-reliant; and through education and collaboration, mobilize our community to help prevent domestic violence.
TESSA's mission is to help women and their children achieve safety and well-being while challenging communities to end sexual and family violence.
Advocate Safehouse Project: Together we can reduce intimate partner violence in our community; so future generations will know what respect and healthy relationships look and feel like.
The Colorado Coalition Against Domestic Violence is inspiring Colorado to end domestic violence.
Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence (SPAN) provides 360 degrees of support and services for survivors of domestic violence and their children n Boulder and Broomfield Counties.
EMPOWERING WOMEN & GIRLS
The mission of Women's Global Empowerment Fund is to support women through economic, social and political programs; creating opportunities while addressing inequality, strengthening families and communities. Our goal is to work for social justice, increased human security and women's empowerment.
Women's Resource Agency empowers women and girls to attain and maintain personal self-sufficiency and economic independence.
The mission of Work Options for Women (WOW) is to help impoverished women gain the skills and confidence they need to work their way out of poverty and become gainfully and permanently employed in the food service industry.
The Women's Bean Project exists to change women's lives by providing stepping stones to self-sufficiency through social enterprise.
Sacred Heart House of Denver offers a continuum of services to homeless mothers with children and single women to help them achieve and maintain self-sufficiency.
Giving feels good!
Before giving to any organization, make sure to know what their mission is about and what they're doing. Some non-profits serve a particular geographic area in Colorado or elsewhere. And of course there's lots and lots of other organizations doing amazing work... this list is just a brief highlight.
